IPA’s North America office is a full service office that supports all of our traditional business areas. The office is staffed with approximately 45 project analysts, many of whom have industry experience and/or substantial project experience at IPA.
The North America office is the focal point for IPA in the evaluation of emerging technologies in alternative energies. Over the past 3 years, our staff has worked with many of the emerging bio-fuels projects being piloted and commercialized in North America. We expect this to be an area where IPA's expertise in the commercialization of new technology will greatly benefit the energy sector as investment in alternative energies continues to grow.
In addition, IPA North America has broad project experience in the electric power generation sector having in recent years evaluated a cross section of major coal, gas, hydro, and even nuclear power projects being executed in the U.S. and Canada. Our expertise has been increasingly called upon by U.S. and Canadian government entities to assist them through our IPA Institute training and benchmarking services in becoming better stewards of capital.
Finally, the North America office is well positioned to guide project teams that are developing very complex multi-billion dollar capital projects. Our extensive experience in North America with these types of projects positions us to help project teams faced with the daunting task of planning and staffing one of these large, complex projects.
