Fred Biery will give a presentation entitled “What Drives Capital Project Execution Excellence” at the 73rd Annual Meeting of the Aluminum Association. Aluminum and metals companies are expanding production across the world to satisfy growing demands, which has required capital investments. However, the performance of these capital project investments has been mixed. This presentation, which is based on data that IPA has on over 150 metals projects over the last few years, reviews the practices and strategies used by the best performers that have driven better safety, cost, schedule, and operational performance. The best performers’ practices and strategies are then contrasted with the practices and approaches used by the bottom performers.
