Project schedule development is an important process for overall planning. IPA research has shown that projects with better-defined project schedules at authorization have better cost and schedule outcomes. The purpose of this training is to educate project staff on the fundamentals of project scheduling and techniques. This course outlines the basic steps in building a project schedule and presents IPA research and provides a detailed discussion of how IPA evaluates project schedules as part of its project evaluations. It also discusses the level of detail required for projects at the Front-End Loading (FEL) 2 and FEL 3 gates. This course will address issues related to the different project scheduling software packages, but this is not a software training course. We can also customize the course to provide a specific schedule analysis for companies that find schedule a weakness.
