Integration of turnarounds and capital project work is a key area that IPA has studied for several years. During offshore turnarounds, typically not one but several capital projects teams may be working alongside turnaround teams, giving this element of Best Practices heightened importance. Workshops are used not just as a teaching tool, but as a practical means of getting team members together to address how they will work together and when they should perform tasks related to planning and executing the turnaround. These workshops can be generic or customized for the needs of the turnaround team planning a specific turnaround. IPA’s proprietary roadmap for Offshore Turnaround Planning is used to guide teams through the various stages of integration.
