IPA currently has exciting opportunities available for Capital Project Analysts in Curitiba.

Independent Project Analysis, Inc. (IPA) performs evaluations of capital projects for the process industries (petroleum, chemicals, minerals, pharmaceuticals, and consumer products). We examine issues surrounding cost, schedule, operational effectiveness, and construction safety with a strong focus on the front-end activities that drive project success. Because of the upcoming opening of our Latin America office in Curitiba, Paraná, IPA is recruiting for project analyst positions to become available in that city in October 2006. We are looking for bright candidates of strong character who are seeking a long-term career opportunity.

The IPA project databases are unique and serve as one of the most comprehensive sources of capital project experience in existence.

For our new office in Curitiba we are looking for analysts who can contribute to studying the factors that determine success in complex, technologically advanced projects. Responsibilities include gathering and analyzing data, writing reports, giving client presentations, and working with clients to develop Best Practices to improve clients’ business competitiveness.

Applicants should have the following:

Master’s degree (or higher) or equivalent in engineering, science (physics, chemistry, geology or biology), operations research, economics, or allied fields

  • Quantitative analytical skills
  • Interpersonal skills to maintain and develop relationships at senior levels within client companies
  • Fully effective written and oral communication skills in both English and Portuguese. Knowledge of Spanish is a big plus.
  • Relevant experience in process industries; operating experience highly desirable, but not essential
  • Desirable, but not essential, characteristics include petroleum reservoir geoscience or engineering experience or mining and minerals processing engineering experience.
