Exploration and Production Asset Development Analyst

Independent Project Analysis, Inc. (IPA) is a world-leading company specializing in project, program, and asset development evaluation for the oil and gas exploration and production industry. We have an immediate opening for an Upstream Analyst in our Reading, UK office. The candidate should have prior experience with a major operator in the exploration and production industry. Specific expertise in facilities engineering, reservoir engineering, and/or well construction is highly desirable. The successful candidate will contribute as an experienced technical consultant to project analysis for international oil and gas companies.

Primary responsibilities include gathering and organizing asset development data, writing client reports, and conducting presentations for our clients—particularly focusing on whole asset upstream developments. Secondary duties include developing tools and methods for the statistical analysis of asset development performance.

Applicants must have the following:

• 3 plus years of industry experience for a company that owns and develops upstream assets (including direct technical work experience; most of it preferably in the production).
• A degree in Engineering or Geoscience (geology or geophysics) and applicable knowledge of reservoir evaluation and development, production engineering, and/or drilling and completions.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong presentation skills.
• The ability to be a self-starter working in both a team and an independent environment.
• The willingness and ability to travel (25 to 30 percent of the time).
• Eligible to work in the UK.

The following would be desirable:

• Familiarity with oil and gas field development and field operations.
• Some experience in offshore developments, although both onshore and offshore would be preferable.
• Familiarity with and exposure to drilling activities.
