The Industry Benchmarking Conference (IBC) Procurement Committee (PCOM) was established as a subcommittee of the IBC/UIBC in 2003; however, IPA has conducted significant procurement practices research since 1994. The purpose of the PCOM is to extend the IBC/UIBC forums to capital procurement practices for equipment and bulk materials (see the Contracting Committee description in regards to acquisition of services). By using PCOM research findings and practice sharing learnings from the annual meeting, companies can improve their project and business results (continuing research has established the link between procurement practices and project outcomes). Participants in the PCOM should represent the capital procurement function in their organization or have a strong commitment to improving materials procurement practices. For more information on the IBC/UIBC Procurement Committee, please contact Robert Brown at rbrown@ipaglobal.com or by telephone at 703-726-5369. |
