INTRODUCTION

The energy industry transition is well underway, but integrated energy companies must continue to develop exploration and production (E&P) projects effectively to generate the cash flow needed to enable this energy transition and meet energy demands in the years to come. The Integrated Energy Capital Project Analyst role focusses on analysing traditional E&P projects and new energy projects such as carbon capture and storage, electrification, and renewables. KEY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Gather technical energy project data (predominantly reservoir, facilities, and wells) through client interactions, identifying and evaluating areas of risk
  • Undertake statistical analysis using IPA’s databases to quantify findings
  • Write comprehensive reports offering insight and recommendations for clients
  • Deliver presentations (virtual or in-person) for technical and business audiences
  • Collaborate with capital project teams and organisations to improve project/system competitiveness
  • Research project success and failure drivers using statistical methods and IPA’s database
  • Regular international travel to clients and other IPA offices

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Masters preferred, or Bachelor degree or equivalent in natural sciences, geoscience, reservoir engineering, facilities engineering, drilling/completions engineering, or other relevant technical discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant industry experience, preferably in an integrated energy company
  • Proven record of carrying out independent research, preferably as part of a recent relevant role
  • Experience in manipulating and analysing data

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALITIES

  • Demonstrable superior English language written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrable experience with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to successfully liaise with people from different cultures
  • Excellent listening, presentation, and report writing skills with strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrable critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and adaptability
  • Proven ability to work effectively independently and meet deadlines
  • Languages would be advantageous but not essential
