The Systems Administrator will use their in-depth experience in system automation to support several projects and influence the creation of digital software and to maintain IPA’s suite of web applications and support managers and other staff to produce creative, high-effect projects for clients.


Primary responsibilities include maintaining internal and external software applications. The Systems Administrator will work closely with a team of application developers, database administrators, and IT engineers supporting complex applications, application deployments, patching, monitoring, and troubleshooting. The environment is fast-paced and agile. Candidates should be knowledgeable in multiple database platforms, Linux, and Windows systems administration; AWS cloud technology; cloud security; application architectures and deployment approaches in the cloud; management of cloud environments; application migrations; and cloud-managed database services, including RDS. This position will always be encouraged and expected to contribute ideas to improve the company’s technology and products.


  • Solving data flow problems and performing end-to-end system integration tasks to include system design, development, and administration
  • Developing system performance, availability, scalability, manageability, and security requirements for small-to-large scale systems
  • Performing a variety of tasks related to knowledge/technique dissemination to analytic workforce; demonstrating an ability to convey new techniques and technologies
  • Demonstrating an ability to convey new techniques and technologies to analytic workforce and facilitate transference of acquired knowledge from experienced analysts to new analysts
  • Taking a detail-oriented approach to work, highly organized, and effective communications skills both orally and written
  • Being an expert in Linux and Windows systems administration
  • Being an expert working with AWS services, including EC2, RDS, VPCs
  • Having experience managing Load Balancers
  • Having experience with GIT
  • Providing technical assessment of requirements and definition from conception through implementation
  • Contributing to the development of documentation, including system diagrams, standards, specifications, and operating procedures
  • Monitoring for opportunities to enhance the customer network/system performance or reliability
  • Monitoring for opportunities to improve the customer service delivery practices
  • Providing support on systems upgrade and troubleshooting of network problems
  • Maintaining and extending expertise in applicable areas of network and computer hardware and software technology
  • Having agile delivery at the core of your culture and being experienced and ready for a modernized delivery environment
  • Being solid on the latest technology and developing technical solutions to meet a wide range of business needs
  • Maintaining and enhancing functionalities for web applications
  • Assuring that all user input is validated before designing applications
  • Making sure software and products stay up-to-date on emerging technologies
  • Promoting usability Best Practices
  • Collaborating with other development team members, product line management, and stakeholders


  • Stays current with design developments within the interactive industry
  • Has knowledge of responsive and adaptive designs
  • Is familiar with agile development methodologies
  • Has the ability and knowledge of interface design principles
  • Has extensive knowledge of Object Oriented JavaScript, CSS3, and HTML 5
  • Has experience with Content management systems, such as Drupal and WordPress
  • Has experience with Cloud technologies, such as AWS and Docker
  • Has comprehensive Web development knowledge (Java, Python, PHP, .NET, JavaScript, CSS, CGI, HTML, XML, Postgres, MYSQL, and SQL) and familiarity with GIT deployment are desired, but not necessary
  • Has working knowledge of Organic Search Engine Optimization techniques
  • Has understanding of database knowledge
  • Must be detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Is self-motivated and has the ability to work on their own projects with little supervision


Must have hosted Cloud or related field experience and a minimum of 7 years work experience with both Linux and Window servers.
