Adi Akheramka, Carbon Management & Sustainability Research Team Leader for Independent Project Analysis (IPA), will participate in a panel discussion as part of the International Meeting for Applied Geoscience and Energy (IMAGE) 2021 on September 28, 2021.
The panel theme is From Petroleum Industry to Energy Industry: Global Young Professionals’ Perspectives on a Sustainable Future. Per the event website, the panel discussion will “explore how the energy transition relates the classic view of petroleum companies to the innovative goals of energy companies, learn from next-generation geoscientists how technology and data science are changing how we approach energy, and share in the experiences of young professionals as they navigate their careers with companies who are implementing energy integration and transition strategies.” Akheramka will participate in the discussion virtually.
Adi Akheramka has made significant contributions to IPA’s carbon management and sustainability efforts. He leads IPA’s Carbon Working Group (CWG), a group of oil & gas, energy, and chemicals firms that is setting the standards for carbon emissions management in the capital projects industry. He and his team have led the development of metrics and frameworks to measure and improve clients’ carbon emissions vs. cost performance and to assess risks for carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) projects.
The IMAGE 2021 Conference runs from September 26 to October 1, 2021, with sessions held in-person in Denver, Colorado, and online. The event is hosted by the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) and American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG). Visit the event website for more information.
