Advancing the procurement function within owner organizations

The procurement function impacts project cost and schedule performance far beyond just negotiating and securing lower unit costs for project equipment, materials, and services. The Procurement & Contracting Committee (PCOM) is a community of the world’s leading organizations with the common goal of improving capital effectiveness via the procurement function.

Procurement and Contracting Committee (PCOM)

Working Together to Advance the Procurement Function

Guided by its member companies in the manufacturing and exploration & production industries, the PCOM creates metrics to quantify relationships between industry procurement practices and capital project performance, and assesses the competitiveness of each member organization’s procurement process performance. Member companies gather annually to review performance metrics and Best Practices, discover new research and trends, and share ideas for improving the value of the procurement function over the entire project work life cycle.
