ABOUT THE ROLE

Independent Project Analysis (IPA) has an opening in our US office in Ashburn, VA, for an Organizations and Teams Analyst. This role is within an exciting and rapidly growing area of the company in which we leverage organizational expertise and unmatched data to advise our clients on the effect of individual, team, and organizational practices on capital project performance and work collaboratively with them to support them as they work to improve. The successful candidate will have the potential to become a consultant and trusted advisor in your specialization in Industry.

IPA seeks candidates for the Organizations and Teams Analyst position with strong analytical skills and intellectual curiosity who are looking to contribute as a thought leader. Aptitude for and demonstrated skills to be a successful analyst and consultant include your ability to connect real life with the data and vice versa, to know when to ask more questions and when to just listen, and to back yourself as you learn and thrive.

DAY IN THE LIFE

General responsibilities of the Organizations and Teams Analyst role include:

  • Client-interfacing work to collect and analyze project technical data
  • Developing reports and presentations with insight and a customer-focus
  • Delivering verbal (including virtual delivery) feedback and presentations
  • Working directly with capital project teams and project organizations to improve business competitiveness

Responsibilities may also include conducting research on the drivers of project success and failure using statistics and the projects database, developing statistical models, and developing new products to meet clients’ needs.

The Organizations and Teams Analyst will focus primarily on studies and client engagements related to capital project organization design, staffing, team composition, and individual competency. The analyst will collaborate with cross-functional groups within IPA and work directly with clients to address their questions and needs.

Organizations and Teams Analysts must have excellent written and oral communication skills, display the interpersonal skills needed to develop and maintain relationships at senior levels with client companies, and have a demonstrated aptitude for learning new concepts and applying them quickly. The position requires solid analytical skills, a proven ability to turn an abstract concept or idea into something actionable, a track record of finding creative solutions to complex problems, and flexibility in thought and/or approach (as opposed to a rigid perspective). The successful candidate will work well in teams but also be capable of managing multiple projects independently and have experience in applied research or consulting in the Industrial and Organizational Psychology area, including direct client engagement.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A Master’s Degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, Organizational Behavior, or a related field and a minimum of 1 – 2 years’ experience with direct client engagement is required. It is also preferred if you are proficient with STATA® software and have knowledge and/or experience with capital projects but not required.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

This position will involve approximately 15 – 25 percent travel.
