How the Capital Projects Industry Is Responding to COVID-19

Summary

A Panel Discussion Hosted by Edward Merrow

The COVID-19 pandemic is taking a toll on capital projects and systems globally. Though many construction activities are suspended to keep workers safe and curb the spread of the virus, companies are scrambling to secure supply chains and rebalance project portfolios due to work process disruptions and engineering delays.

On April 2, 2020, Independent Project Analysis (IPA) hosted a webcast panel discussion to discuss how major players in the capital projects industry are working to mitigate project disruptions while keeping their personnel safe. IPA President and CEO Edward Merrow facilitated the session and was joined by panel speakers Jason Walker, IPA Principal Deputy Director of Research; Tony Bazzini, Chief Engineer at ExxonMobil Global Projects Company; and Annette McClelland, Global Capital and Engineering Leader at Cargill.
